I qualified from Birmingham University in 1991, and very quickly undertook a couple of year programmes in both restorative and implant dentistry.
In addition to these I went to many, seemingly random courses. I was truly a very general practioner.
That all changed in 2000, when I attended my first BAAD meeting. Up until then I thought I was an "Aesthetic" practioner, but I realised that there was so much more.
I left the meeting committed to a distinct and well defined goal; to try to emulate the exceptional work I had seen.
I decided to change the way I practiced. I bought and renovated a building and was fortunate to find some colleagues who were able to help me.
In 2007 I was able to hand over endodontics, periodontics, surgical dentistry and implant placement, allowing me to concentrate on the aesthetic/restorative field.
I completed a Post Grad Certificate in Aesthetic Dentistry, and have lectured for several companies on the field. I have even had the pleasure of winning several awards.
I really feel that the consistent core of these achievements has been the British Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry.
Outside of dentistry I enjoy motorsports, running and skydiving.

Lambert Fick was a truly passionate dentist, as those of you who have attended his lectures or have simply "talked teeth" with him will attest. No organisation matched & mirrored that passion better than the Aesthetic Academy movement.
Lambert's initial interest in the group was stimulated by his great friend & fellow Wits graduate, David Garber. David had long been an active member of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry & told Lambert that the concept, the camaraderie & the sheer excellence of the scientific programmes made the meetings "must see" events!
The A.A.E.D. provided the framework for a world wide movement, & never one to miss an exciting new development, Lambert was delighted to learn that the concept was moving in to Europe, bringing it closer to home.
He attended his first aesthetic academy meeting in 1986; it was only the second meeting of the newly formed European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED) & was held in Monte Carlo.
